Until recently, Lobotes Surinamensis was thought to comprise a single worldwide species; now, however, records from the eastern Pacific are known to be based on a different species, Pacific Tripletail (L. Pacificus). In addition to the eastern Pacific species, populations elsewhere may be divisible into one or two additional species. |
